Payton Jaksa is an NYC-based actress and Colorado native. She recently graduated from The New School with a BFA in Musical Theatre, after studying for two years at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.
She developed a passion for all things song and dance at a very young age, performing alongside major stars from the comfort of her childhood living room. From then on, she never stopped performing, be it a shower or a stage.
As a child, she performed in the Colorado Ballet’s annual Nutcracker at the Ellie Caulkins Opera House, and then went on to perform around Colorado in various community theaters. Some of her favorite roles include Queenie in Andrew Lippa’s The Wild Party and Helga in Cabaret. She made her NYC debut in the Bronx as Marvalyn in Almost, Maine and most recently premiered an original play at the New York Theatre Festival.
Off-stage, Payton is extremely passionate about activism in its many forms. She prides herself on being a vegetarian for ten years (without cheating) and is a September Virgo (the best kind, if she says so herself).
